Early intervention specialists

Keep the family’s priority in view between visits

A useful next step has to fit the family’s day. Use Cadenivo to record what you agreed, explain one activity in a familiar situation and return to the adult’s observations before your next meeting.

A practice workspace and a separate space for families

A clear handoff between a visit and everyday life

Describe the situation, not just the task

For example, keep a familiar play routine and the support the adult offered beside the goal. A short observation preserves useful context without turning a family reply into a score.

Separate preparation from sharing

Plans start private, and their preparation notes remain for the specialist. Share the intended goals and configure the family’s home-practice and feedback permissions separately.

Return to an agreed next step

Keep goals, linked activities and replies in the child record. Use the existing schedule for the next visit and the material library for your own files. A record of a visit is separate from its payment.

Getting started

Prepare one routine to discuss with the family

  1. Write the family’s priority in their own words after discussing it together.
  2. Choose one familiar situation and describe the step you have agreed.
  3. Explain the adult’s role and the observation or question to send back.
  4. Review the reply together before changing the next step.

Before you start

Does this create an IFSP or manage a public early intervention programme?

This page describes an independent specialist’s goals, assignments and family communication. Cadenivo does not generate or submit an IFSP, determine eligibility or manage public programme reporting.

Does the family need a separate child account?

No. Invite an adult to the family workspace for assignments and replies. A child account is a separate option in the shared core, not a requirement for this workflow.

Can I use my own activities and materials?

Yes. You choose the activity, instructions, timing and support. Use your existing files or a written instruction. Cadenivo does not prescribe an intervention programme or evaluate development automatically.

Will the family see every note I write?

No. Private preparation notes remain for the specialist. Choose which goals to share and check the family permissions. Specialist feedback is selected by default in an invitation; turn it off to hide those comments. The shared child-account journal is a separate feature from the family workspace.

Make room for the next step.

Start with one child, one appointment and a clear plan for home practice.
